Kitchen cupboard doors can be the little secret that will change the look of your entire kitchen space. If you think your kitchen appearance is getting boring lately, maybe it needs a little touch of upgrades. Instead of remodeling the whole kitchen which will surely spend a lot of money, you can just do the retouch to some little details. Take a look at your kitchen cupboards. Do they are too old and dull to be the bright spot of the kitchen? If you think so, let’s do the makeover to make them so fresh like new again.
Replacing the cabinets will be one of the most expensive things to do when you are about to remodel your kitchen. But, doing the makeover to make your cabinets look like the first time they came out of the store surely won’t burn a hole in your pocket. Make sure you have all the tools required to do the cupboard doors makeover project. You need to prepare the paintbrush, sandpaper, steel wool, paint, mineral spirit and oxalic acid.
Start your steps by cleaning the dirty doors. Gently rub the cupboard doors using the steel wool and mineral spirits. Make sure you do this outside the house or in an area with good ventilation. The oxalic acid can be used to remove some dark spots on the surface of your doors, but you need to rinse the acid off when you’re done with the stains. The next step is to sand the doors. This step is necessary if you only want to repaint your cupboard doors without any further actions. When you’re done sanding, prime your door three times and you can proceed to apply two coats of paint. You can paint the doors in a plain solid color or just draw a pattern on it. Either way will be great to give a new look to your kitchen doors.
